• Duplex pipes are stainless pipes containing high amount of chromium and minimum amount of nickel.
• Carbon steel pipe offers high strength, bearing stress, impact resistance and rigor, good plasticity, good toughness, ease of welding and thermal processing, thin wall thickness, to save metal. However, it need to have proper anti-corrosion measures because of its poor corrosion resistance.
• Steel pipe that are used in gas engineering are usually made of high quality low carbon steel or low alloy steel
• Steel pipe of large diameter with good adhesion and corrosion resistance can be resistant to acid, alkali and other chemical corrosion. These does not rust, offer wear resistance, impact resistance, strong permeability, smooth pipe surface that will not adhere to any substance, and can reduce the transmission of resistance.
• Flow and transmission efficiency can be improved and the delivery pressure losses can be reduced by using large diameter steel pipe. These are widely used in tap water, petroleum, natural gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, telecommunications and electricity.
• Galvanized steel pipe are used in building water distribution system.

• Steel pipe is grouped in Welded Pipe and Seamless Pipe.
• Flat sheet metals are used to produce Electric Resistance Weld Pipe. These pipes are first cold formed into a cylindrical shape and then welded longitudinally.
• Seamless pipe is manufactured by piercing a solid round billet leaving behind a hollow seamless pipe. These pipes have no longitudinal seam or weld when compared to ERW pipe.
• Stainless steel welded and seamless pipes are used as they are resist corrosion, preform at high temperature, for clean look and low maintenance cost.
• The inherent material characteristics that allows much thinner walls to be created such as sch 5, sch 10 without compromising the structural integrity of the pipe is the most important aspect for stainless steel pipe.
• Fusion welding can be used for steel pipe to join pipe that eliminates the need for threading.
