Rambutan is a delicious fruit cultivated many regions throughout the world with numerous health advantages. The scientific name of Rambutan is Nephelium lappaceum. It belongs to the genus: Nephelium, family: Sapindaceae. It is believed that this wonderful fruit is native to the Malay-Indonesian region and other regions of tropical Southeast Asia but now it is also cultivated widely all over the world for domestic and commercial purpose.  The delicious fruit is oval-molded and furthermore around 1 - 2 inches long. It includes a thin, cowhide like skin charmed in a few tubercles that appear like spines having a bend in the tip. The Rambutan's outside skin varies from greenish-yellow to orange or even dark red.
