Babchi oil is actually extracted from the Babchi seeds by the steam distillation process. Babchi is also known as Bakuchi in Sanskrit. Since last 400 years Babchi oil is used in Ayurveda due to its various health advantages such as antibacterial, antioxidant, antifungal, anti-tumor, antidepressant, etc. Babchi oil contains high amount healthy chemicals such as, bakuchiol, psoralen, elemene, linalool, limonene, corylifol, 6-prenylnaringenin, angelicin, bavachalcone, isopsoralen, corylifolin, corylin, isobavachalcone, bavachromanol, psoralidin, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and neobavaisoflavone. The scientific name of Babchi is Psoralea corylifolia.  It belongs to the Genus Psoralea, family Fabaceae. It is believed that this natural herb is native to the Arable land in Asia (mainly in India and Iran), but now it is also cultivated widely all over the world for domestic and commercial purpose.
