Acerola is a tropical fruit bearing shrub cultivated in many regions throughout the world with numerous health advantages. The scientific name of Acerola is Malpighia emarginata. It belongs to the genus malpighiaceae family. It is believed that this delicious fruit is native to Southern Mexico, South America, Brazil and Central America, but now it is also cultivated in many parts of subtropical areas of Asia.
