The Jicama is an edible tuberous root cultivated many regions throughout the world with numerous health advantages. The scientific name of Jicama is Pachyrhizus erosus. It belongs to the genus Pachyrhizus, family: Fabaceae. It is believed that this edible tuberous root is native to Maxican, but now it is also cultivated widely all over the world for domestic and commercial purpose.

Due to various types of Vitamin, Minerals and nutrients, present in the Jicama, it has lots of health benefits. Among that some of the health benefits of Jicama include improving immune system, prevent various types of cancer, improve digestive health, prevent diabetes, build our bone strong, increase blood circulation, reduce blood pressure and cholesterol level, improve brain function and helps in weight loss.

Jicama contains lots of Vitamin, Minerals and other components. Among these some of the vitamins that Jicama has Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Folates, Niacin, Pantothenic acid and Choline. Jicama also contains Omega 3 fatty acids, Omega 6 fatty acids, dietary fiber, sodium and potassium, which have lots of health advantages. Apart from this Jicama also contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium, selenium, phosphorous, iron, protein, zinc and copper. The best part of the Jicama is, it contains zero cholesterol. 

Jicama Improves Digestive Health:

Due to the high amount of dietary fiber present in jicama, it is very beneficial for our digestive health, because fiber adds bulk to our stomach and ensure the proper elimination of stool from our body in time, if stool will not eliminate from our body for a long time, it might be the reason for constipation, gas and other stomach issue.
