The scientific name of the kumquat is Fortunella. It belongs to the genus Rutaceae family of a flowering plant. It is believed that this delicious fruit is native to southern China, but now it is cultivated widely in all over the world such as India, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Southeast Asia commercially and domestically.
