Netarhat is popularly known as the Queen of Chotanagpur that is situated in the Latehar district of Jharkhand. It is best known for the sunrise and sunset views it offers. When traveling by road from Ranchi to Netarhat, you will literally cross seven hills on your way and a little more than 96 miles. It is the highest point of the Chotanagpur plateau.

Betla National Park is a beautiful national park which is spread over the hilly terrain of the attractive Palamau district, west of Ranchi. Though there are relatively fewer tigers here, you can spot many wild elephants as they wander without restraints in the forests of this park. It provides a deeper insight of the rich tribal heritage of the state. The presence of two forts inside its premises makes it different from the rest park. The park stretches over an area of around 979 sq. km, out of which 232 sq. km forms the main area and it is one of the 9 tiger reserves that were first established in India. The Betla National Park is home to a huge variety of wildlife due to a diversified ecosystem. The park houses luxuriant sal and bamboo trees. The Southern side of the forest is dominated by Sal trees whereas the Bel Aegle marmelos dominate the northern part of the forest reserve. Several waterfalls and hot water springs found inside the park alond with small hills like the Netarhat, Huluk, Murhu and Gulgul make it an interesting place to explore.

Upper Ghaghri Waterfalls located 4kms away from Netarhat amidst a lush green valley, under a cloudy sky.

Lower Ghaghri is located roughly 10kms away from Netarhat falling from as high as 32ft. As the water meets the base, it flows like a small river making its way from the middle of the jungle. With trees standing stiff on both sides of the water body blocks the path of the sunrays to fall on the water surface. So you would only see the shadows of the dancing trees.

Magnolia Point is a place to watch the sunset. You will be able to specifically notice the movement of the sun, everything from shining bright in the sky to slowly moving down and looking for a hideout behind the mighty mountains of the Vindhya range.

Pine forest is used to be the governor's permanent summer station. You can enjoy the journey while trekking through the Pine forest.
