Dandruff medically termed as Seborrheic dermatitis is a disorder of the scalp. Oily skin, fungus on the scalp, dry skin and skin inflammations can be the cause of dandruff. It can cause itching as well as hair fall. There are many remedies that can be used for controlling & curing dandruff. These include:
Neem juice, Beetroot juice and Coconut milk pack to Prevent Dandruff:
Take one fourth cup each of Neem juice, Beetroot juice and Coconut milk. Mix all thoroughly with one tablespoon of Coconut oil. Gently massage this pack on your scalp. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then wash it off with a mild shampoo.
Methi and Apple cider vinegar pack for Dandruff Removal:
Soak two tablespoon of methi (fenugreek) seeds overnight in one cup of water. Next morning grind the seeds to form a paste and mix it with one cup of apple cider vinegar. Now apply the paste on your scalp. Let it sit for about 30 minutes and then wash it off with a mild shampoo. Repeat this once every week.
Aspirin for Dandruff Removal:
Crush two tablets of aspirin and put the powder in a mild shampoo. Now apply this mixture of tablet and shampoo on your scalp and lather for 5 minutes and let it sit. Rinse thoroughly.
Baking Soda for Dandruff Removal:
Wash your hair with nice hot water wash. Add a couple of drops of water with two tablespoon of baking soda. Massage the paste to your scalp. Rinse thoroughly.
Natural Soap Nuts (Reetha) for Dandruff Removal:
Soak about 15 soap nuts (reetha) in water for one night. Next morning, grind the soap nuts into powder and boil it in water. Strain the powder and add one tablespoon of amla juice to this. Mix thoroughly. Rinse thoroughly after massaging this paste on your scalp for about 30 minutes.
Lemon Juice for Dandruff Removal:
Massage lemon juice of four lemon on your scalp. Let it sit for about 15 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
Aloe Vera Gel for Dandruff Removal:
Massage 5 tablespoon of aloe vera gel into your scalp. Let it sit for about 30 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
You can also mix aloe vera gel with coconut oil and cook this mixture over a low flame for 30 minutes. Get this concoction to room temperature and massage it gently on the scalp and hair spreading it evenly. Wash it with a mild shampoo and conditioner after 3 hours.
Alternatively, massage a mixture of 2 tablespoons of fresh aloe vera gel, 1 tablespoon of honey and 2 tablespoons of yogurt and olive oil on your scalp for 15 minutes. Wash it with warm water after 30 minutes. You can use this hair mask once a week.
Also a mixture of 12 to 15 drops of neem oil and around 2 to 3 tablespoons aloe vera gel can be applied over your scalp spreading it evenly. Massage it for 20 minutes and leave it on for the entire night. Wash it off with a gentle shampoo and conditioner the next morning. You can do this twice a week for effective dandruff removal
To get fresh Aloe vera gel a leaf of aloe vera either from a store or from your garden and the yellow bitter part and wash the leaf to remove all the residual yellow stuff. Cut the edges of the leaf. Thinly slice the top layer of the leaf and scoop out the gel from the leaf. Now you can use this fresh gel according to your requirement to get long, lustrous and glossy hair.
Curd & Lemon Hair Mask for Dandruff:
Make a nice smooth paste of 5 tablespoon of curd and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. You can also add ground pepper to it. Apply to hair for half an hour and wash with cold water and mild shampoo. You can repeat this twice a week to get rid of dandruff.
The anti-fungal properties of this mask will not only remove the dandruff but also prevent the recurrence. The anti-pruritic properties can relieve scalp itchiness and irritation. Because of its anti-fungal properties, it can reduce dandruff. It helps restore the pH balance of your hair and also keeps it consistently hydrated.
