Tips to Reduce White Hairs

The occurrence of white hair with old age is natural. But it is absolutely bothersome when you notice them in your early 30s and sometimes, even 20s.

The occurrence of white hair with old age is natural. But it is absolutely bothersome when you notice them in your early 30s and sometimes, even 20s. Both gray and white hair are the result of your hair losing its pigment. When there is a significant reduction in the pigment, the hair turns gray. When there is absolutely no pigment present, it turns white.
The leading cause of hair whitening is deficiency of melanin which is a result of lack of appropriate nutrition and protein supplements. An imbalance of hormones can cause your hair to turn white. Certain underlying medical conditions such as deficiency of vitamin B12 or problems with the thyroid and pituitary glands can trigger a loss of pigment in your hair resulting in whitening of hair. People with liver related problems can get grey hair at a very early stage. Excessive styling, use of chemical-based shampoos, soaps, hair dyes and use of heat ironing can also be the reasons behind growth of white hairs. These days stress is also one of the reasons behind getting white hairs. Growth of white hair can be restricted if you can stay away from stress by practicing meditation. Heredity, climate, pollution, and exposure to certain chemicals are some of the factors that can speed up the process of aging. But, there are some remedies of staying away from white hairs naturally. These include:

Curry leaves to Reduce White Hairs:

Premature graying of hair and growth of white hairs can be easily reduced with curry leaves if applied in a right way along with proper combination. Take handful of curry leaves and boil it till the color of the water changes. Remove the leaves from water and pour a cup of butter milk in it. Mix it and apply it over your scalp and hair. You also need to massage your hair really well and keep it for 30 long minutes.
Alternatively boil a handful of the curry leaves with coconut oil to prepare an oil solution. Cool it and strain the oil. Massage it into your scalp and hair about 15 minutes and leave the oil on for an additional 30 minutes or overnight. Wash off with a mild sulfate-free shampoo and finish with conditioner. You can try this 2 to 3 times a week.
Curry leaves help restore the melanin pigment in your hair follicles. It is enriched with vitamin B which is a vital hair growth and pigmentation vitamin.

Fenugreek seeds to Reduce White Hairs:

Soak 2 spoons of fenugreek seeds in water for a night. Remove the seeds and apply water over your hair and scalp and leave it on for about 45 minutes. Wash your hair with a mild sulfate-free shampoo and finish with conditioner.
You can use this process 1 to 2 times a week.
As fenugreek is rich a source of nutrients like vitamin C, iron, potassium, and lysine, this water will help reducing white hair from your head ideally. These nutrients not only prevent premature graying but also promote hair growth and prevent scalp dryness.

Amla to Reduce White Hairs:

Boil 3 to 4 Dried amla with 1 cup of coconut oil to prepare an oil solution. Massage two tablespoons of oil into your scalp and hair for about 15 minutes and leave the oil on for an additional 30 minutes or overnight. Wash off with a mild sulfate-free shampoo and finish with conditioner. Rest of oil can be stored in a jar to be used later. You can also soak dried amla in water overnight and rinse your hair the next morning with this water. Alternatively, mix dried amla powder with lemon and almond oil to prepare a smooth mixture that can be applied regularly on the scalp.
As it is a rich source of vitamin C, which acts as an antioxidant, this will help reducing white hair from your head ideally. It has anti-aging benefits and revitalizes the pigment in your hair follicles.
You can also eat Amla as pickle or you can eat it raw. The most important thing is Amla does not loose its quality even if you make its pickle, or you boil it. The quality remains intact.

Black Tea to Reduce White Hairs:

Boil 2 spoons of black tea in a cup of water. Strain the liquid after it gets cool and apply it to your hair and scalp. Massage your scalp for a couple of minutes and wait for about an hour with the tea in your hair. Wash your hair with a mild sulfate-free shampoo and finish with conditioner. You can do this process 2 to 3 times a week. Black tea restore hair with antioxidants and helps inhibit the growth of white hair. It also helps darken hair color while adding shine.

Onion Juice to Reduce White Hairs:

Chop a medium sized onion into small pieces and blend it with about a tablespoon of Olive Oil. Squeeze the juice out of the pulp using a cheesecloth and apply this juice onto your scalp and massage for about 10 minutes. Leave the juice on for an additional 35 minutes and then wash your hair with a mild sulfate-free shampoo and condition. You can try this juice twice a week. It helps reverse graying and improve the health of your hair.

Henna to Reduce White Hairs:

Mix 5 tablespoon henna powder and 1 tablespoon instant coffee with a cup of Water avoiding lumps. Apply this mixture onto your scalp and hair and leave it on for about 3 to 4 hours. Rinse with warm water and a mild sulfate-free shampoo.
Once every three weeks you can try this method. It helps cover up the appearance of white hair by adding rich reddish tones to your hair. It also gives strength to your hair.

Sesame to Reduce White Hairs:

Combine 2 tablespoon sesame seed oil with 2 tablespoon coconut oil and heat the mixture until it is slightly warm. Apply the oil onto your scalp and hair. Massage for about 15 minutes and cover your hair with a hot towel and leave the oil in for an additional 30 minutes. Wash your hair with a mild sulfate-free shampoo and finish with conditioner.
Coconut oil is one of the most penetrative hair oils with a rich source of fatty acids that help condition your hair. Sesame seed oil helps promote melanin production in turn darken the color of your hair with regular use.
